Dictation

Tabby kitten lays between halves of a keyboard on a desk.

Many interns can be expected to take dictation from more senior members of the team. This offers them a great opportunity to see the process that big decisions take from inception to execution. It also allows those with experience to pass that on to newer team members and gives the new members the opportunity to ask questions about anything they don’t understand.

Agnes, on the other hand, has assumed the senior role with…everyone. Rather than take dictation, she is constantly spouting off ideas that she expects everyone else to take down and get working on. To facilitate this she’s found the perfect spot on the desk to make sure we can’t ignore her, but that also allows her maximum comfort so she can convey her knowledge without distraction. We, of course, were not consulted about our feelings on this.
